In the wonderful medieval village of Charlieu, visit a silk museum which tells the history of all aspects of the local silk trade. Featuring hand and mechanical silk producing, and even a functioning Jacquard loom.

Benedictine Abbey of Charlieu

This incredible Abbey was established and prospered during the 1st century. Surroundered by fascinating ramparts which were used during the 100 Years War. This ancient site is listed and has been superbly and beautifully restored in recent years. Well worth a visit!
